In a shoe factory, the atmosphere is heavy. There is a serial killer around, killing only the woman. The police investigate but proof is scarce. Years before, a man has been charged with the murders, but he has always denied them. The killings continue. The killer is yet to be discovered and the investigators are nervous. This feature had many international awards, being in the selection of prestigious countries such as France, Italy, Poland, Brazil, England or Brussels.
Multi-awarded Hungarian director, Sopsitse studied in the Academy of Theatre and Cinema. His first feature was “Shooting Gallery” (1989) which opened in the Directors’Fortnight in the Cannes Festival where it was awarded. It was followed, among others, by “Videoblues” (1992) and “Abandoned” (2000), equally awarded, “The Seventh Circle” in 2009, Best Film in the Amsterdam Film Festival, and “Strangled” (2016) which is part of this Hungarian Retrospective. Next came “Supporting Actors” (2023) in competition in the Directors Week in Fantasporto 2024.
