The Last Ashes – Loïc Tanson, 121’ (Lux)

March 3 • 5:00pm • Room 1

This is the Oscar nomination for the Luxemburg. A huge historic production that illustrates the hard life in the beginning of the 19th century, after famine, epidemics and the Dutch occupation of the territory. In the North Castle reigns Graff over a closed and cruel society which depends on the whims of the Lord. Hene and Jon are children who want to escape the castle. Discovered by the guards, they are harshly punished. Years later, Helène returns to take revenge. An excellent example of the rarely seen production of this country. First fiction feature by the director.
