March 3 • 3:15pm • Room 1 | March 5 • 9:00pm • Room 2
A young village boy is fascinated by a legend, told him by a travelling storyteller. It’s about the tragedy of a girl from his village who fell in love with a young lumberjack, two types of life that shouldn’t mix, like Montagues and Capulets. But the boy is so keen to know what the voice by the river is, that even his father can’t stop him. His wise grandmother tells him how to unite the lovers together. A beautiful love story, sensitively told by Masakasu Kaneko. Best Film Award at the Gijón International Film Festival.
