Ciela is a lonely girl in a fishing community who, unknowingly, takes home a magical octopus. In a village dominated by a despotic lady-mayor, the girl has found a powerful ally to solve her family’s and her own problems. Director Mauricio Sierra is known for “Liberia 77” (2011) and “Eat Street” (2011). “Ciela” (2013) has already won the general competition (Best Film) and the shorts competition (Best Short) in the Brooklyn Film Festival.
