A dysfunctional family living off land affected by drought, and to make matters worse, they all have affairs with married people. When one day a woman turns up claiming the land they want to sell, the problem becomes even more serious. Meanwhile, mysterious deaths follow one another since a painting with a scarecrow enters the house.
