Immersion – Takashi Shimizu (Jap)

In a little southern island, Tomohiko, a researcher, works on research development in virtual reality technology and neuroscience. Then he finds a strange red gate and noises in the shape of a person from data records of the virtual reality world. That leads the island to be connected to the other world and Imajo, a vengeful ghost that curses the island, comes after and dooms with violent drowning deaths. Another very original story coming from the Japanese master of horror who directed “The Grudge and “Suicide Forest Village”, winner of Fantasporto in 2021.
