The Exorcism of God – Alejandro Hidalgo (E.U.A./México/Venezuela) – 99’ – CF – Fantasy
An American priest is called to perform an exorcism. But nothing goes according to the rules. Years later, the priest still suffers the consequences of what happened. Now living in a small village, the priest is haunted by images of horror and various temptations, in a duality that shakes his faith and the presence of God in him.
Paying homage to several classic films, Hidalgo returns to Fantasporto which he has visited in 2014 for the World Première of his first feature “La Casa del Fin de los Tiempos”, widely awarded afterwards, with his second feature, spoken in English and remarkable acting by Will Beinbrink as the priest.
Alejandro Hidalgo is a film director, screenwriter and producer known for “La Casa del Fin de los Tiempos”, presented in Fantasporto 2014 in a world premiere, the first Venezuelan horror feature, the greatest box-office hit in the country and multiple international awards. New Line is already preparing an American remake. It was followed by “The Exorcism of God” (2022).
