In a little southern island, Tomohiko, a researcher, works on research development in virtual reality technology and neuroscience. That leads the island to be connected to the other world and Imajo, a vengeful ghost that curses the island, comes after and dooms with violent drowning deaths. Another very original story coming from the Japanese master of horror who directed “The Grudge and “Suicide Forest Village”, winner of Fantasporto in 2021.
He was born in 1972 in Japan. He is a director and writer, known for “Ju On: The Grudge” (2002), “The Grudge”(2004) and “The Grudge 2” (2006). He is the first-ever Japanese director who recorded No.1 US box office hit with “Ju-on/The Grudge”, followed by the hits of the trilogy “Village” which Fantasporto has already screened. He won the Best Fantasy Film Award in Fantasporto 2021 with “Suicide Forest Village” (2021).
